If you are looking to sell your vehicle and you want to get the best price for your trade go see these guys. You walk in and your greated by someone immediately. All you need is your ID and the keys to your trade. From beginning to end it takes about 30 minutes for them to give you a VERY FAIR APPRAISAL. I was given an appraisal and it exceeded the last place I was at by $5500.00. My Toyota Tundra is gone and I got the best appraisal for my vehicle after shopping a few different car lots. The previous lot I went to gave me an appraisal for $7500.00. CarMax gave me $12,000.00 for my truck. They were unbelievable. If you feel your not getting what you need out of your trade. Check out CarMax! I worked as a car salesman for 12 years and these guys know what their doing.
Drove to this location to checkout a car. The whole experience was pleasant. It could be that we already knew the car we wanted and had reserved it, but never he less the whole experience was great from the young man who took care of us to time time the whole process took, I would say that it was less than two hours. You know that the in itself is a record for any car dealer. Definitely recommend driving to this location. We drive 2.5 hours to this location because it was the only place that had the car we were searching.
Very easy and simple. I did an online quote and thought for sure once I got there the sell value would differ significantly. Once arrived, checked in, and they viewed the car. They came back with exactly what I was quoted online. Would definitely sell another car with them!
Mark, my sales person was always helpful finding just the right car and brought one in for me from Tampa to Fort Myers. He helped switch out some non-matching floor mats as well. The prep on the car was good and delivered it looking like new. Their selection of newer used cars with low miles here in Fort Myers was large than any other location by a long shot. This our second car purchased thru CarMax and wont be the last. Florida Jim
I went in to look for a used vehicle and a great price not only did I get a great used vehicle, I also got a very fair price for my used van.The help was great the Sercice was above my expectations. The cashiers had to see me three different times and they were kind and Miranda had a huge bright smile and made the transaction very easy and done with easeThanks CarMax, and especially Miranda who made the customer feel like number oneI had to wait for the paper work and observed her being especially helpful to everyone she helpedBest regardsDwight popovic
Good luck getting a correct educated answer from their associates when you call them! Be prepared to drive all the way there for them to waste your time and cost you gas expenses! BTW, they wont do business with you at all if you have a leased vehicle that youre trying to sell them! They want the title ASAP, they wont wait 2 weeks for the lease company to send it to them! They just lost all possible hope of me ever doing business with them in the future!
Salesperson was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He was very professional and made the process smooth and surprisingly quick. This locations inventory was fairly good for the type of vehicle I was interested in. I would do business again at this location and with the same sales associate.
I purchased a 2016 Camaro from car max. It came with a 3 month warranty or 4,000 miles (whatever comes first). Within two weeks the cooling system malfunctioned causing a loss of a/c. CarMax immediately examined the car and ordered the parts. The parts arrived and they installed them immediately. This was a 4/5 hour repair. They offered me a loaner due to the time to repair. They treated me and the car as though it was a purchase of a new car.Who else offers such great service. Bottom line they stand behind their products and service.I strongly recommend CarMax for your next auto.
I did a 24-hour test drive on a car that was less than a year old with only 10,000 miles on it. When I got it home, I noticed it was leaking oil. When I took it back the next day it leaked oil on their pavement. I pointed it out to them and told them I would not be purchasing the vehicle because of the oil leak. Within an hour after I dropped the car off, they had it back up for sale on their website. There is no way they diagnosed and fixed the issue in 1 hour. They put the car up for sale knowing that it had a problem. Be careful purchasing a vehicle from this CarMax.The staff member I worked with was very nice.
Had a car on hold for days with 4 different people there and was willing to pay cash. They sold the car and kept me strung on for days. Not one person could say they sold it until after waiting on hold for 21 minutes I got mad enough to ask for someone else.Carmax Tampa said the car would be on hold for 6 days. I have emails that tell me the car is on hold. They spoke with Fort Meyers.Another associate tells me they only hold for 24hrs.Why was it on hold for any amount of time, when I was ready to buy it outright? They ping my credit for financing ( which I didnt need ) then tell me they sold it.Too much dishonesty and the right hand has no idea what the left hand is doing.Im not going to call with a question that is answered differently depending on who answers.
I had a great experience making an appt for the initial visit to have the vehicle evaluated. Josh greeted me and I received a very good offer. However when I returned to finalize the sale process, there were some discrepancies. The woman that started my paperwork left and then paperwork was misplaced after the vehicle was checked in. That delayed the process by more than half an hour. I had to ask of status that prompted the Manager to get involved. Alexa came over to apologize and promised to figure out the issue. Everything worked out smoothly thereafter. And everyone was apologetic.
Selling my vehicle to CARMAX could not have been smoother. The easiest transaction ever. This is an extremely efficient run business. Fill out form for immediate offer online. Take vehicle to them for appraisal. Walk out with check in hand. All in approximately 30 minutes. Staff is extremely professional and friendly. I highly recommend CARMAX if you are thinking of selling your car. Thanks for a great experience.
I did a trade in and the process was super smooth. The fort Myers’s location went above and beyond for us. They noticed a small nail in the tire when checking out the car we were buying but they replaced 2 tires and made sure to rush it to get it done by the end of the day for us. Josh was our service rep, he was great!
My experience selling my car to Carmax was quick, simple, and stress free. Their offer was higher than the offer I received from Carvana. The Carmax team was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions about how my offer was calculated. Their app was easy to use and the outlined process for what to expect was exactly what I experienced. I highly recommend their services and was completely satisfied with my experience.
The entire process of buying a used car couldnt have gone any smoother. My wife and I visited this location about a week ago, to look at a replacement for her aging car. We walked the lot, with no sales pressure, until we found one she wanted to drive. Our sales person (Seth), was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. We traded in her old car for more than what we thought wed get for it, and the financing process was a breeze. We were done in under 15 minutes, unlike the hours it has taken at most dealerships. Would highly recommend, and looking at purchasing a replacement truck for myself.
I recently purchased a vehicle from Carlos at CarMax. He was absolutely the best. I had been to several lots and dealt with a few different salesman and by far he was the best! Very helpful, patient, understanding ( and kept my husband laughing the whole time). All around, I had a great experience. The car was exactly what I wanted and within my budget. Carlos took the time to search their inventory and other stores to find my perfect fit. Thanks again to Carlos and CarMax for helping me get my new car!
Easy breezy. A little intrepid about selling my 2018 Hyundai Sonata outright, recently making a life-choice to stop burning fossil fuels. Took 3 trips from Appraisal. Bank closed for payoff to the day I said. ITS GO TIME. CarMax made it almost too easy...wish my 2 divorces had cost so little and left me completely satisfied. But then again, thats what the girlfriend was for anyway. Am I right??
Would not honor pricing posted on their own site. Had a screen shot on my phone of price before they decided to raise it 4K. Reserved and had a car transferred from out of town expecting price to be what was posted to find out it was raised when I went to test drive. Sales person was excellent as I realize it wasn’t his fault but the manager is garbage and showed absolutely no customer service skills. Maybe not the managers fault either but he’s in position to make it right after showing proof. Instead he was arrogant and had the I don’t give a F attitude. I even offered to meet 1/2 way with the price increase but he was willing to do nothing and made it clear to me he could care less. Never would I step foot in that place again or recommend someone there.
I had a great CarMax visit today. I went there looking for a car to replace my 08 Tucson. I have been shopping for a new car for a while now, but every time I went to a dealership, I felt like they were rushing me to make a purchase and did not tend to my needs, however, for my surprise I had a great salesperson today. Nick greeted me when I walked in, listened to what I wanted/needed, took all the time to show me the cars around until I found something I was happy with. The process went smooth and I happily bought a new car. Nick made all the experience enjoyable and not rushed. I had time to think it through and make a well-thought decision. Great customer service. Nick is the man. Look for him if you are buying a new vehicle.
First thought of selling our truck. Thought of selling it on line. Thought it would be a hassle. Wrong wrong. Filled out the trucks inform online. Quickly got an offer. Went down to Carmax in Ft. Myers to get the truck appraised and guess making sure what we said about the truck was accurate. Surprise. Was in and out in 19 minutes. The offer was the same as what the internet was. Left. Returned the next day. 45 minutes later walking out with our check. Vary happy and surprised.
I’m super happy with Carmax, this is my third car that I got from them! Our sales person, his name is Monty, he was extremely friendly and helpful throughout the process and was a pleasure to work with. We are extremely happy with our beautiful SUV Mitsubishi 2022. The process was simple, super easy and working with Monty made the day go smooth! Would highly recommend a visit to Carmax if you are in the market for a clean car and fair no-hassle purchase. Prices, deals and the best customer service! Thanks Carmax and Monty! 🙌🏻🎉
I bought a car in November and since then I have had a lot of problems with the car from cosmetic to dangerous. Many times I have tried to call the service department to get my car fixed. Almost every time I call I get a voicemail and they never call you back. The 2 times I did get through the same lady answered and was very rude and told me when to come and hung up on me didnt even ask me what times worked for me. So when I finally went in they told me 2 days I didnt get my car back till a week later and stuff was missing from my car. I tried calling to ask but again no one answered. Two weeks ago I called and left a voicemail because of more problems with my car and I still havent gotten a call back. I called again today and I was hung up on as soon as someone anwsered. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.
Great for sales, bad for servicing and customer support. When selling, they reach out to you over text, calls, etc. When you have an issue with your car, nobody from Service and Customer Support picks up or return your calls. I called 3 times. 3 voicemails. Nobody reach out back. Thats my experience. I had to drive to this location to request an appointment to check something electrical with my car because they dont take walk-ins. Very disappointing but after my experience with Carvana, Carmax is no different. Even if you spend a lot of money on your car.Update 5-14-2022: I finally got to the appointment and they were very nice. Car is under the 90 day warranty and even though it is not a big issue (electrical) they need to keep the car for a couple of days to solve the issue. They provided me with a loaner and theyll keep me updated. Still, when you call Service, try to speak with someone. Leaving a voice-mail is useless. They dont check messages and never call back. Updating my rating to 3 in hopes they fix this issue fast and nothing else comes up!
Worst experience ever. Carmax is telling me how I can and can’t use the vehicle I would like to purchase. They will not sell it to me because I might use it for my business!!! Unbelievable. I will never come back and I will advise my 1100 customers to never shop there.
This is by far one of the most professional and organized car dealerships I know, and believe me Ive been to quite a few. The car buying process is fast and easy. A special special thank you to Montey Stahl who is one of the BEST car salesmans at CarMax. He will not try to sell you anything you dont want and is very straightforward and honest throughout the entire process. CarMax should be very appreciative for him. As soon as were ready to purchase our next vehicle, it will most definitely be with Montey at CarMax!
I am disappointed in the customer service with explanations about the vehicle I purchased. I wrote a long review experience on another email from Carmax Research. I visited 2 Carmax locations with 3 visits total. It seems like its a car store. Do your own research before coming in to see vehicles. If you dont ask the right questions, more detailed information about the vehicles werent given. This was the first time I was purchasing a vehicle by myself. I had the car inspected at an auto service business on the same day I purchased it. They disclosed 2 areas of concern: a piece of paper or sticker in the front camera area and tire rot on the 3 older tires with a newer tire as the 4th tire. I brought the car back to Carmax service and they removed the paper obstruction, checked the tires and cant do anything extra about the tires.I have bought and sold vehicles with Carmax as my preferred choice. This has definitely changed now. With the other survey, I did accept the offer for someone to contact me about this and havent received a courtesy response regarding this issue.
My experience in these place it’s very unpleasant I have purchase a vehicle after leaving the facility 20 minutes later the car broke down I had to go back to the dealership and how to return the vehicle and get my deposit back I was upset because they always say that the cars are been certified come to find out that they’re not doing it I give them a second try I want to see a vehicle that I like they had a to do some work on it I went to go get enough to the car was ready they run my credit and pay the deposit again they make me wait a hour and they tell me they can not sale the vehicle because the previous owner forgot to sign some documentation so they could not sell the vehicle to me after I gave the deposit down that’s when they let me know but yet they advertise the vehicle online that is ready to be purchased I’m Joseph said they run my credit four times already and all this happened in the Fortmyers location. I will not recommend any one to go there they are not doing there job at all Waste of time
We purchased a Jeep Cherokee Latitude. I like to perform light mechanics cal work myself to make sure the task is performed correctly. Starting my first oil changeI noticed that the oil pan plug was installed so tight that I had to take the car to a local repair shop to change the oil and replace the overtightened oil plug. The service mechanics need to pay more attention and take care not to overtighten oil pan plugs.
Worst car dealership experience I have ever encountered. Would not finance thru my business. Tried to finance in my name. I was told since it will be used for business purposes, they will not sell me the vehicle. I will tell every person and business owner I know to go elsewhere. NEVER BUY A VEHICLE FROM HERE.
Went to trade a 2020 chevrolet traverse RS all wheel drive gave my cell number we waited about 2 hrs no one called no one ask I dont know what happened.. as soon as we walk in we were help and explained how to go about looking at whats pending and whats available vary friendly atmosphere clean organized..I have gotten 2 vehicles appraised 1 got a total loss accident the other I sold for more money maybe thats the reason .. we ended up leaving feeling unwanted
This place is poorly managed. I went in after thinking my finance process was complete, since I received a link to pay shipping for my vehicle. And also received not only the pre-approval but also my finance offers, Gandy (which was my sales agent) Was great and really tried his best. When asked for help from his manager , DAVID... who was rude unprofesional , and careless...he was brushed off. My first issues were the tires were run down, Davids response was well get her another car., I have been on the phone tirelessly with Carmax for over a week about this vehicle and had it shipped here , I paid for it! When they couldnt find my information he made no real attempt of making any calls and getting to the bottom of it. Instead he was confrontational ,unhelpful ,unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful. I will be taking this as far as possible he showed no interest in helping me or his Own associate , as i am sure it was because I was a female with a child!
Best car buying experience of my life. No sales pressure. They allow you to shop on your own without a salesman following you around asking questions. When they knew that I was trading a vehicle they never asked how much I owed on the trade. They just appraised my trade and gave me an offer. They held the vehicle overnight without a deposit so that my wife and I could talk things over and we called the next day and said that we would buy their vehicle. I would highly recommend CarMax to everyone.

Carmax offer to buy my car was better than the other offers I had. The process of selling my car to Carmax was smooth.
Everyone knows how many cars i have had. Welll carmax does not want my business. I called to findout what it was and try to solve the issue and the ft myers store still denied me . The salesman that helped me is not even employed there and i still have got no answer to what happened. So anyone that knows me DO NOT BUY FROM CARMAX IN FT MYERS.ON another note the guy at corporate YOHAN. IS ONE OF THE NICEST GUYS OUT OF THE WHOLE OUTFIT. HE WAS TRULY AWESOME.
Sales person had me there 4 hours with many corrections that had to be made. When I received my new vehicle it was dirty inside and outside and waited 1 hour for it. I arrived @ 9:30 am for a 10:00 appointment, they took me right away, but did not leave till 4:30 30,000 later!!
So I have to say I can be demanding when spending the kind of money I spent . Mark at the Fort Myers FL location was phenomenal to me and my circ*mstance meant I had to wait 10 days before I pulled the trigger. Car max agreed to reserve the truck for me and kept its word . This vehicle was flawless , had below average miles and ended up being a fair deal in today’s truck market . I wish they had put 4 new tires instead of 2 but that’s how they kept the price below NADA. The real question that matters is would I buy from Carmax again? The answer is yes . No pressure , no drama and a stream lined process makes it a pleasant experience.👍🌴😎🌴
Price offered for my vehicle was very fair. Process took longer than I thought it should have. Inspection was 15 minutes or so. Came back next day to accept offer and it took about 2 hours to finalize transaction. Overall fair, but I thought I could complete during my lunch and ended up having to take a very long break.
Our second purchase from Carmax...with the last one being over 20 years ago. Overall a good experience. Paid $99 to bring a Jeep across the State to my local dealer. Sales staff was low pressure and efficient. Maxcare warranty is reasonably priced in comparison to new car extended warranties.Negatives: (1) Had to return to have a sun visor replaced. A known issue in these vehicles which should have been discovered/addressed when they inspected the vehicle. (2) Tires had (barely) adequate tread. Enough to pass an inspection, but will need replacement in less than 5k miles.Pricing was fair for the market. A no-questions-asked return policy takes some pressure off. Excellent value on trade was completed online before visiting the store.
Extraordinsry...worked with Kevin....the BEST!! Two days and bought a car. I consolidated purchase and the terms, warranty service, customer service of another lady, Tina -were nothing short of superb. Every detail of auto transaction was looked after. I will never purchase anywhere else.
Sold our car to them. Set up an appointment for an appraisal, which did take longer than expected. However, was met at the door by Alecia Evans, what an employee! Met me right away, smiling, outgoing, courteous, and knowledgeable. Got the process going, kept an eye on it. When I got the appraisal, was higher than I expected, almost double the offers on FB marketplace. The actual sale of the car went off quickly and hitch free. Great experience over all for us.
Montey rocks! Montey knows his inventory, matching us with the perfect truck within minutes of our arrival. He understands the in and out of finance buying and answered our questions quickly, honestly and accurately. The days of sitting at the dealers desk while the salesman makes trips back and forth with manager are over if you choose to deal with Montey.
I was quoted $33,000 for my vehicle and since it was taking CarMax till November to do their stuff they decreased over $1,200 after I waited for an hour so I just signed the paper. They also lost my key so I couldn’t take my car if I tried. Wish they would give me that $1,200 back. I don’t think I’ll ever use them again. This is my first review. Please correct this.
Honestly I had a pretty bad experience with Carmax. The weeks following the purchase of my car from the Fort Myers location were very stressful, as they somehow messed up the transfer of the vehicle from the previous owner to me. Because of this, no representatives could find my account because the car was still in the previous owner’s account. This issue took over a month to resolve. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because Carmax did pay my first months payment due to this issue, however this month-long delay caused my refinancing application through my bank to expire as Carmax couldn’t provide my account details that my bank needed in time. So now, 2.5 months after purchasing my car I’m still wrestling with Carmax auto finance and my bank trying to get my financing sorted out. It’s been a complicated and disorganized mess.
The staff is delightful to work with. They are knowledgeable, friendly, professional and courteous. The online offer was fair and reasonable and after the in person inspection the two offers matched. Thank you! You made selling my car so easy, quick and painless. Kudos to the team at the Fort Myers location. Yordin and team were SPECTACULAR!
Ricardo mark and the finance guy were all great got offered 19990 online for my car they gave me 19990 honesty and efficiency, more dealership need to take this lead
I was interested in selling my car and emailed several companies. I provided my vin# and some additional information and CARMAX quickly got in touch with me and emailed me an offer. I took the car to several dealers who offered me significantly less than CARMAX and each dealer claimed that CARMAX wouldn’t honor the price offer they made me in there email. The offer CARMAX made was good for a week and I took it to them on the last day of the offer. The process couldn’t have been easier and they gave me exactly what they offered in their email and the whole process was complete within 90 minutes. I would definitely work with them again in the future.
Left feeling that I under sold my 2017 Chrysler 200. First offer did not list leather seats. Offer was for 13,500.00from Fort Myers Fl. Returned back several days later and addressed offer, noted lack of leather seats listed. They came back with new statement offer listing Leather seats, and same dollar offer for 13,500. I asked for an explanation, manager told I could except the offer or leave….I sold car to car max , feeling like I made a mistake… Shame on me and shame and you! I will do better research next time! Probably will never sell another car to your company again! Sold 2 vehicles one in 2019 and now 2021 . A wiser consumer now! When you sell a home you do comp comparison, shame on me for not doing the same. Two days later I sold a 2019 Jeep Renegade Sport 4 wheel drive for 1,800 more than Car Max offered me. Car was purchased by a Kia dealer locally, and they explained offer fully ! Kia of Cape Coral Fla was fabulous!!! Will recommend to anyone! They went over and above with professional curtesy!!
Took a ride to look at some cars today. They are unbelievably stocked with all different years trucks minivans ugh I think they had every make and mode thats available at this time, the lot was unbelievably huge and so many makes models trucks cars The place was immaculate the cars were parked like a showroom outside eye-catching plus I got to go to fort Myers and walk downtown with a nice friend. Had a really nice dinner tooThen onto a friends birthday gathering. Not a bad day when I had no plans at all Wound up looking alot thinking about buying a Jeep I cant seem to make up my mind but I do know when I had one I was happy driving it everywhere including the beach yes you can drive on the Beach in Florida East coast mainly. The car I have now is nice but it was the only one I looked at really not a good feeling just going to one place. I have a feeling that it Looks like Im going to get my Jeep probably next year I cant stop thinking I should have got oneSanta knows Ive been good so....
I was a CarMax fan so far. We bought cars for over $50.000 in the last 18 months here and wanted to buy the next in the next year. But the service we have to deal with now will scare even the most loyal customer away.3 weeks ago we bought a nice Grand Cherokee Overland. We agreed with the sales guy that we will take it but that he has to put new tires on it. The old tires are all down close to the wear mark and on the edges they are totally worn out.Ok 2 days later we arrived with a big cheque to get our car but surprise it still had the old tires on it. The sales guy told us they are still ok for the CarMax standard. We made the big mistake to take it with the old tires and did not insist on new ones.3 days later the pressure warning for 1 tire came up in the dashboard, so I pumped it up again and it was good for the next 4 days. The low pressure again.I contacted our sales guy that we have a problem and they need to do now something under their 30 day warranty.Only answer I got was ( call service )So I remind him about the promised new tires and asked him to take care about this problem now.Ok after following up with him every day after 5 days he told us to come in. So i pumped up that tire again after the car took a rest for the whole week in the driveway. On the way to Ft. Myers the wood trim of the drivers door felt off. We came in to the service department and of cause he had arrange nothing and nobody did know about the problem. So i had to explain the whole story again. The service guy took pictures of all tires and measured everything and promised to call me back the same day with a solution.Ok no call back of cause, so I called again the next day. He told me he had spoke with his manager and will have a solution the next day.Ok no call on the next day... So I called back again and now got the info, I have to drive in again ( with the flat tire ) because his manager wants to see the tires because his pictures did not get well....Bottom line, I am just pumping up that tire again to drive there again. Its really not about that tire, if they don´t keep agreements its ok and I buy 4 new ones on my own cost ( which I really had better done 2 weeks ago ).Its about how you feel as a customer. In this case you just feel like a idiot they joke with!Car buying is really perfect at Carmax but as soon as you handed over your money, all service is gone.
Carlos Feliciano in Ft Myers was are sale rep and he was awesome. We had a few issues with the vehicle we purchased and he has followed up to make sure everything has been completed. Car Max gave us a very good trade price on our vehicle which sealed the deal. I will definitely use Car Max to purchase any future vehicles. Completely satisfied.
I had a car that I was going to trade in and was offered peanuts for. I tried CarMax on a whim and their offer was 3x higher than I had received on my next car, exactly 3x (I am sure they will not be happy when they read this review). There was a lot of activity there and we waited a long time, but it was first come, first serve and you cant complain about that. We used the time browse their selection and found so many great cars. I found their sales prices high, but selection, location and quality do cost more. They were not flexible on their offer price and I am sure they were going to make some on our vehicle, but I felt like they gave me a respectable offer for a kind of old minivan. Thanks for the service!
Great experience and service. We sold our F350 to them fast with no hassle. BTW - We had gone online and got a quote from Carvana at the same time and it was $13k under what CarMax gave us. Guess where you shouldnt ever go LOL. Just save yourself the time and head straight to CarMax.
This is one of the worst places I’ve ever been. The employees are a mess and do not follow up when they promise they will. The building is distasteful and looks like it’s under some kind of slow progress renovation. I had a 2022 Volkswagen Taos (brand new condition) and they wasted my time by directing me go 40 minutes away to fort Myers for an in person appraisal (even though I completed the online one ) and acted too busy to give me sincere undivided attention. When greeted by someone, he told me that they don’t do VW lease buyouts when I had discussed with another employee (via phone) 1 hour before arriving and they clarified that they DO VW lease buy outs. When I explained that to the employee he said that “VW just got added”. He walked away to “check” with someone. Then never came back and followed up. Automatically, that interaction gives me a bad impression because employees should KNOW what they’re talking about and when they don’t they should have the decency to follow up with someone after confirming. The part that really gets me is they told me they’d contact me about my buy out from the VW dealership and then never contacted me. All their cars are an absolute rip off. Might as well buy a new one for the prices they charge. This was my first and last trip to a CarMax indefinitely. They are very unprofessional. Do not waste your money on navigating the new/different car process with these people. Go down the road!
Had an amazing experiencing for selling a car for the first time. All staff was truly amazing but a special shout-out to Yordin for sharing all his knowledge, professionalism and making the paperwork process quick and smooth ! Definitely will be coming back to this location
I dont think I will ever go back to purchasing a car at a dealership. CarMax is straightforward and there isnt any high pressure. What you see is what you get. There are no high pressure tactics like most dealerships. Once you decide on an auto, you get in and out in a short amount of time. It was actually a pleasant buying experience.
This CarMax location is really well-run, especially the business office. My wife and I had a tricky situation for the sale of our vehicle, and the business office staff members were able to provide us with exactly the information we needed to make the process go smoothly. In an industry that can cause a lot of stress and anxiety, this CarMax on Colonial was a breath of fresh air.
There must be something about the Fort Myers CarMax that we didn’t understand. We walked in, were greeted by a very friendly customer greeter. After answering a few questions we were sent out to look at cars of interest. Not one other person spoke to us, or even acknowledge us. We walked around, sat at a computer, and then left. At no time did anyone else acknowledge our performance. We appreciated not being pressured but a friendly “can I help you” or even a smile would have been nice.R&LBottegal
I have never used Carmax before- after my recent experience I would highly recommend to anyone looking to buy or sell a car. The entire transaction from start to finish could not have been any better. Staff was friendly, professional and efficient. Extra kudos to the young man who complimented my shoes! I have already shared my positive experience with many friends and will continue to tell people about my extremely positive experience. Thank you!
They made it super quick for me to get in and get out when I did. Their financing is a bit high, but you can always refinance later. I suggest doing all the financing online, and double check to make sure when you get their the final numbers do not include the warranty.
Once again Im not sure why I even bother with other dealerships. After getting the run-around from 3 other dealers, I finally went to Carmax and purchased a vehicle. This is the 3rd car Ive bought from them, and it was easy and got an excellent car at a good price. The hassle of other places just isnt worth it anymore.
I had an excellent experience buying my vehicle from CarMax in Fort Myers Florida. The salesman and manager worked with me to find the best deal for me. Im a single woman and Im always afraid that I will be taken advantage of but that was so far from my experience. They shipped the vehicle I liked from a different location and made the purchase easy. I would give them 10 stars if I could.
Really had a great experience here. I was selling a vehicle and the process was very friendly, quick and completely fair. It eliminated the hassle and risk of selling to other buyers directly. Ill def come back to FM CarMax again when its time to replace our next vehicle.
Phone sales reps are terrible, no one knows what theyre doing. I was told multiple different things by several different reps and it was never accurate. Spent literally all day back and forth on the phone with sales reps that would tell me my transfer vehicle was ready that I already paid $1700 to transfer, to find out it wasnt. Then tried to setup delivery which was a complete nightmare, dont even waste your time trying to get delivery. Had to provide my info for financing 6 different times because apparently no one enters it into the system correctly. Thank goodness I financed with an outside bank. Great vehicle, terrible buying experience.
I love dealing with carmax. Ive dealt with 2 of their locations and have always had a great experience. Had to wait a while for the transaction to go thru the other day when we sold my wifes pickup, BUT they were truthful about the wait and let us know it could take a couple hours bc ALOT of people are selling vehicles right now. So if you go to sell your vehicle, be patient and expect a wait.
As usual, Kevin is the man. I worked with him last year and again this year and his honesty and customer service skills are always top notch. Great company and great atmosphere. Quick and easy with absolutely zero stress involved. To be honest, I myself was a sales manager at a dealership and know what goes on behind the scenes as well as having all the industry numbers and Kevin and Carmax were well within the range of trade in offers unlike other dealerships who try to hold back thousands of dollars from customers vehicle values. Do yourself a favor, if you are in need of a car, give them a call. If you really want to treat yourself to a great car buying experience, set up your appointment with Kevin. Kudos to this team.
Purchasing the car and having it delivered was quite pleasant and easy. I took the car to a mechanic after purchase but within the 7 day turn in allowance and everything was great except for the tires. Unfortunately the tires on the car were dry rotted from sitting. When I contacted CarMax about this they said it was within their parameters because no wires were showing. I decided to keep the car because of the very low mileage but now have to put new tires on it.
Was very happy with our sales person who was new but extremely professional from finding us the right vehicle, explaining carmaxs purchasing policies, buy back guarantee etc. Drove the car home and the next day noticed some blemishes on the drivers door and rear panel that looked like they were touched up and definitely not professional. Took the vehicle back to carmax the next day and was told that they couldnt do anything with it and that it met Carmax standards. Realized that Carmax standards must be pretty low. Dont want to return the car because we really liked the vehicle. Just wish the their standards were as advertized!!
I saw the car of my dreams at another location. I reserved and requested shipping to my closest location. CarMax called to verify I wanted the car moved. I was initially told it could take 7 days, but it arrived in just 1! I was contacted by my initial contact person as well as by the closing location manager to tell me the car arrived. I was happy to learn they kept extra long hours so thay I could go that same day to test drive. I arrived early, my salesperson, Maggie, met me at the door. She got the car over to me and I was able to drive it just before the rains hit. I wasnt sure if the hubs was going to let me get it, so the transport dept had taken the car away but even in a downpour they brought the car back to the service bay so he could see it when he arrived about an hour later. Once he said I could get it, the rest of the process was seamless. The young man who did our paperwork was great. The whole staff was great. I have worked in dealerships all my working life and this was by far the easiest and most pleasant experience I have had buying a car.
As always, Car Max was awesome! Mike was there to help us out and was fantastic! I had put a car on hold, as I live in Ft. Lauderdale, several days before and then went to Ft. Meyers to pick it up. The car was exactly as advertised and we were in and out in around 90 minutes. Mario handled our paperwork and he was great as well! Perfect experience which is why Ive purchased about 8 cars from Car Max in the last 20 years!
I spent 3 hours on the phone the day before giving a carmax rep all of my information. He told me it would speed along the buying process. This person also tried to tell me my plates were 10 years old and I needed to pay for new plates, I had to actually ARGUE with him that my plates were 3 years old. The only reason he let it go was because I told him I either keep my custom plates or I walk..The next day I spent 4 HOURS there doing all of the same paperwork because the information the first rep entered was wrong. They hit my credit for a credit check SEVERAL times, and told me it was ok to do and shrugged it off loke it was no big deal.On top of all of that mess I was told there is no user manual, and I would have to buy it myself but they would reimburse me for it, and I could discuss that when they called me to set up a time to pick up the second key to the car.Its been a few weeks and still havent heard about the other key or the manual reimbursem*nt.I feel like they didnt care too much about taking care of the customer, jist getting the sale and moving on to the next person. Had I known that my first car buying experience would have been like this I dont think I would have come to this place. Which is sad because all over the wall is a motto thar says the way car buying should be....
I came there at a bad time. It was a weekend plus a Holiday on Monday so no banks were open to get a payoff figure. We came back on Tuesday and my bank must have been overloaded with business as it took a long time for them to respond. The personel at CarMax were patient, pleasant and helpful. Kept trying until there was a response and was able to finish the transaction. I was there from 9:30AM (I live 1 1/2 hours away) until 4:30PM. It was a long day, but I was happy with the outcome. My first time for CarMax, I would do it again.
We arrived, got to walk to the lot to check out the vehicles, no pressure from any sales associates. After a little while, Maggie came out and introduced herself, said let her know if we need any help. Very nice lady and approach. We looked at a 2017 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring. Very nice vehicle, in excellent condition! Everything worked out great! It was a very easy, hands free, no Covid worries experience! Our trade value was very good at CarMax which was awesome! They have so many makes and models to choose from. Maggie answered any questions we had and was very knowledgeable. She spoke with us as a friend and not as a pushy sales associate just wanting to sell a car. Felt very comfortable at the dealership overall and had an amazing experience!! I would highly recommend going to buy your next vehicle at CarMax from Maggie!! :)
It was Excellent. I had problems finding the right vehicle at the right price but it was no problem shopping at Carmax. I test drove 4 vehicles until I found the right one. Carmax had no problem with me returning the previous ones bought. Salesman were very willing to help and made the whole experience very easy with no complains. Carmax prices are very competitive with an enormous selection of quality vehicles. I would recommend Carmax for everyone for their next vehicle.
Finally got around to writing this review. I purchased my car back in January. Im going to talk about this location first and then CarMax as a whole:For this location the experience was surreal. This truly is the right way to buy a car. Robert was informative and very easy to talk to. He took care of everything in a matter of minutes. I never had to worry about what price I was going to pay, haggling, or anything. I pointed out an issue with the car before buying and he told me it would be taken care of for free courtesy of CarMax. Unfortunately I dont remember the name of the person who took care of the financial portion but she got things processed right away. The entirety of the process took about an hour. If I had informed my bank about my down payment ahead of time it would have been around 30 minutes. I cant recommend buying from CarMax enough. This location did a great job.Now on to the actual company: the companies culture is great and it reflects through their sales model. As most people know CarMax employees dont get commission on the price of the cars they sell so its more about getting the customer into the right car. With this, they provide some of the best service Ive experienced including some luxury dealers Ive been to. Sales and finance-wise they couldnt be better. CarMax offers crazy warranties where if you find any issue with the car they will basically fix it at no charge. I did find some other minor issues in my car and have yet to pay for any of them. Finally, service is another story. Unfortunately, when I went to get my cars audio repaired at the Boynton location I had to bring it in 3 times. I dont believe this was entirely their fault as they had a third-party vendor address my faulty speaker. After the second time with the same issue they simply ordered the replacement part and replaced without any further questions. All other issues were resolved immediately. I do wish they had all servicing aspects in-house but overall I cant let that one situation soil the entirety of the experience.Buying a car from CarMax was excellent and I will be doing it again for my next purchase.
Definitely a better experience than the last time I bought a car which was at a dealership! The people were honest and nice and weren’t pushy about trying to add things and such. I was able to plan out everything online from doing an online appraisal for my trade in to getting pre approved for the exact car I wanted and let me see what my monthly payment would be with different downpayment amounts. We reserved the car online and it was there waiting for us when we arrived. Once there the whole process was very quick and efficient in and out with my new car in about an hour and a half (I spent about 5 or 6 hours at the dealership last time I bought a car). They have good warranty options and a 7 day return guarantee which is nice (Especially with used cars) if you find something wrong with the car. So far we are loving new car!
I went online and received an offer for my car. I was unable to find a replacement on the lot so I just sold it to Carmax. The process was simple. They did an on-site inspection of the car and verified the offer. The entire process took less than an hour and I was on my way with a check.
I cant really rate this place since we didnt buy a car here but all I can say is that when we came inside the dealer they only have 4 mini vans available and there arent any used one. They are all brand new. Customer service is pretty advance so I will give them that.
Very efficient operation Car was assessed quickly, and a reasonable offer made. When we decided to accept, we received an appointment quickly, and the car was processed and a voucher for the agreed amount promptly delivered. We were impressed with the level of efficiency
I recommend CarMax to everyone I know whos looking into buying or even trading a car! So effortless & simple. They are there to help/guide you through the entire process. Maggie is great! She gave me her personal cell number to contact her if I needed any help. She also made an appointment for me because I wanted to go to another CarMax to check out a car I was interested in. Overall wonderful experience! 😊
My family has had good experiences with CarMax in the past; however, if I had the option between getting suplexed on to a pile of used heroin needles or going to this CarMax again, Id take the hepatitis. The dashboard on the car I test drove looked like a bright yellow Christmas tree, there were so many warning lights that there wasnt enough time to identify them all during our 20 minute test drive. The sales rep we had was a remarkably poor example of what customer service should be and the CarMax was aware of all the problems with the car, and yet, they still neglected to tell us about them before we made the 1000+ mile trip to take this glorified gocart for a test drive.I would advise you reconsider going to this store.
Just purchase a Nissan frontier 9 days ago, sales department was great!Unfortunately had two minor issues, one was half fixed and the other problem is still the same way! After having the vehicle for 7days.Only got one update, had to call several times to check on the vehicle. Service department was very unprofessional!
We had the best experience purchasing our vehicle through CarMax. Our salesman was so very pleasant and easy to work with. He went above and beyond to help us find the perfect car! We cannot thank our salesman and CarMax enough for giving us the best service they could provide.
I got approved and made a deal on the phone. Came in test drove the minivan all good. The sale was done before I stepped a foot in the door. I asked for the $399 Dealer fee to be removed, since the dealer didnt handle the deal. I was putting five grand for a down payment and the salesman said no he wont deduct the processing fee. Lost the deal. Plenty of junk sitting on sales lots.....
Took care of me in a prompt manner. Excellent service! I believe Danielle was the one who processed the paper work, she was absolutely amazing explaining everything and doing it so quickly! Everyone that helped me was super friendly and answered all concerns and questions!
I had a wonderful experience at Ft Myers CarMax. My son and I both purchased vehicles and Dustin, our salesman, and Sean, Sales Manager, walked us through the process without pressure or haggle. They were both extremely helpful and professional. My son and I both love our vehicles and will definitely return for our future vehicle needs!
Not a good place to purchase a car. Paid to have a car shipped from another town. Took way too long, then the car wasn’t what I expected. They agreed to ship another one I liked after telling me if I looked for the same price point the payment would stay the same. NOT! Ran my credit a second time for the second vehicle. Somehow the price went up $100 dollars a month and the down payment was more. Told my salesperson (Dustin) I’m not paying $753 a month for a car so I told him I’d look at other vehicles on the lot that are cheaper and another year. After finding one he pulled my credit for the third time, now the price and down payment was even higher yet. He had a no care attitude. He didn’t care if I bought or not. I asked if I could use the transfer fee if $250 to bring the first car over towards a down payment since it was t what I expected and he flat out said they can’t do that. He’s never called back after that to try to get me in a vehicle. Never once tried to work a better price for me. I don’t recommend this place unless you know exactly which car you want when they pull your credit because they pull it for every car you look at. Mine went down 23 points. Go somewhere where they care about you and your purchase
My family and I decided while visiting our family in Florida to car shop. Sure, not your normal thing to do while visiting from Buffalo, NY but we always heard there is nothing like used cars from Florida. So we took a chance one day to find a new car to drive home in. Although maybe it wasnt the best time for us to purchase a car. I wanted to take a second to say a heartfelt thank you to JOSH at CarMax of Fort Myers. This gentleman was nothing but profesional, friendly and receptive to our needs. He took care of my family and I at the highest level. Especially during this Covid season of life. Made us feel at ease while car shopping. Never pressuring us to buy but to truly help find us the car that best fits our desires. Thank you Josh for your time and professionalism.
Do not buy from Carmax…they will sell you a car with issues and then refuse to fix any issues outside of their 90 days. We have owned our vehicle for 8 months and the AC has stoped working, the battery has been leaking battery acid since day 1 (did not get fixed even within my warranty period) and now the latest problem is the vehicle is leaking water when it rains!! The vehicle was purchased before rainy season so we had no way to know that we had this issue during our warranty period. Water is literally dripping out of the dome light inside when it rains. Now that it’s raining and the problem has been discovered, Carmax is refusing to help with the issue since it wasn’t discovered during the 90 day warranty…how convenient! Now we are stuck with a money pit since Carmax failed to properly inspect the vehicle and make necessary repairs before selling it to us.
Through my decades of car ownership, my family and I have purchased and sold seven vehicles to/from CarMax. It has not been since the purchase of my current vehicle, a 2006 Cadillac CTSV, that my disappointment with CarMax occurred. I purchased this CTSV from CarMax on January 25, 2018. The CTSV has been into the CarMax Ft. Myers’ repair facility 11 times for a total of 176 days for repairs. I have only owned the vehicle for 966 days. This translates to you having my vehicle in your possession for 18.2% of the time I have owned it. Though I purchased an extended warranty on the vehicle, I have still had to pay out $2,750 for the repairs (11 repair visits at a cost of $250 each). On August 5th I dropped the CTSV off for repairs to the brake system. 15 days later, on August 20th, repairs were completed; I picked up my vehicle. Two weeks later, while doing a routine inspection, I noticed damage to my brake calipers. I called Hector to explain the problem. Since that phone call I have met with Hector and Rob (Service Manager) to discuss remedies. I have also met with Chris and Shawn (Store Managers) to discuss this issue and remedy. Despite my discussions with each, their remedy for repairs is not sufficient.I am seeking the replacement and repair, with OEM equipment, of my CTSV back to the state of the vehicle before the August 5 repairs at CarMax.
I purchased my car a year and a half ago and all I have had has been problems. After buying the car it was back at carmax for about three weeks fixing a shaking problem. I went to pick up the car and was told nothing was wrong with it. I told the mechanic to go on a drive with me and I would show him. Finally they saw the problem, fixed it and a few months later back again for a bad battery! Paid to get a brand new battery only to be back again a few months later with a dead battery again. Had to tow the car to a facility to be told that my brand new battery that I paid for was not new that I needed to go back to Carmax since it had only been months since I purchased it! Now a few weeks after going back to Carmax getting a new battery now the car has the shakes again! To be given an appointment three weeks later to have it checked! I feel like I live at Carmax! Seriously this has been the worst experience of my life with a car! I am a single parent and I rely on my car to take my kids to school and get myself to work. I would never purchase another car at Carmax! If I could get rid of this one I would it’s just been too much wasted time and money. I also hate that because I am a woman they should never ever assume I don’t know anything about cars, I had my first car at the age of 16 and believe me I’ve had cars from Porsche , Infiniti, Lexus, Honda, Toyota, GMC and now Mazda, I know about cars so stop treating woman as idiots when dealing with carsNEVER AGAIN 🤬4/14/2021-so I came to have my car serviced which ended up being a waist of my time. After months of only having problems with the car I walk in and they want to immediately start by telling me that I have a $250 ded. Really for the year and a half that I’ve had the car I have bought it back three times for the same problem! Now they want to say that I have worn out the rotors and breaks when I have been home from Feb of 2020 thru now and the car sits there Monday thru Friday UNBELIEVABLEI HATE CARMAXNO CUSTOMER SATISFACTION WHATS SO EVER 🤬🤬
A great guy their named Kevin who has been there since 1998 is an absolute pro, no pressure, and extremely helpful. In fact all the staff there were super great and helped me get over some minor bumps in selling my car. They ended up paying the best price amd got my business but really was blown away by their professionalism.
If i could leave 0 stars i would.I purchased a car on Saturday, a used nissan that was previously in a car accident. MY MISTAKE was not test driving it! Carmax promises hassle free & guaranteed return within 30 days. The same day I purchased it, on Saturday, I experienced an issue with the car and called them to see about getting it looked at. When i called they said i had to wait until Monday to get it serviced due to Sunday being closed for Easter. Over the weekend of having this car i get an alert on the car that the air pressure is low. I put air in it & kept getting the alert. It kept getting low on air i had to switch it to the donut until Monday. I called first thing today(Monday morning) to let them know i am coming in they transferred me to service i left a message And never got a call back-so i pulled up to the carmax location and explained the situation they then asked if id like to get it serviced or trade in havent had the car 24 hours and already having issues i decided to switch it out. I chose another vehicle TEST DROVE IT & said i wanted it THEN they say oh sorry its sold. Like what?? I just test drove it.They looked at inventory all over the state & had nothing i was looking for so i decide to return the car instead and not purchase anything. As they’re doing the return they ask me if ive been in a car accident i said no the car was in a PREVIOUS accident from my purchasing & the guy said its 4-5k in damages that i have to pay or put in a claim in my insurance. Why would i put a claim with my insurance if I was never in a accident??? Then another manager saya ill have to pay 133 dollars to get it looked at to see what all the damages are. WHAT? How the heck they go from 4-5k in damages/insurance claim to having to pay 133$ to LOOK AT THE CAR FOR COST OF DAMAGES??? A total RIPOFF! My ONLY mistake was NOT TEST DRIVING & TRUSTING THE COMPANY ! Theyre saying i cannot return the car because of the damages but what damages??? I was never in a accident! I only had the car not even 2 days! The car Runs but makes noise when u put it in reverse or turn the wheel. I called THEM the very same day expressing concern i had with the vehicle and was turned away until Monday!!! RIPOFF I AM STILL TRYING TO GET THIS RESOLVED
This was our 2nd experience with CarMax and we returned to them because our 1st experience was so positive. Everyone is quick, efficient and friendly and when we went there we had no intention of signing anything that day, but ended up getting a new-to-us Mazda that we love. We had to take it to the service center for a minor repair after the 1st week and that was taken care of quickly and efficiently as well. We definitely recommend CarMax for all your car needs!
All parties representing Carmax in the sale of my vehicle were courteous and respectful. The estimate and resulting sale was handled professionally and the process went smoothly and expeditiously. This is the second vehicle I have sold to Carmax and I will use them again in the opportunity arises.
This has been the best car buying experience I have encountered. They transferred the car I was interested at no cost and without obligation. Then the test drive was relaxed without any pressure, followed by 15 minutes to purchase the car. They did NOT ask for a deposit, set up an appointment for the following day to pick up the car, took a personal check and again I left with my car in 15 minutes. There was an issue with the car within the 7 days and they made it right. They sent the car to the manufacturers dealership for repair as it was beyond what they could do in the shop, gave me a loaner for 4 WEEKS and called me daily to keep me abreast of the progress. EVERY business should work like Car Max. It is easy to design a positive customer experience when everything goes as planned-it takes dedication and true customer service to deliver a positive experience when there are bumps in the road.I KNOW where I will buy my next car as well.Thank you for everything,Dr G
I was able to get approval for financing before walking into the store and even had a vehicle picked out. Arrived at dealership to complete test drive. We spent an hour at dealership from walk in to leaving with vehicle. So often you sit at dealership for much longer! Super easy!
We had to transfer a car from one CarMax location to another one and then complete our purchase. The transition went smoothly and we were updated every step of the way by emails from CarMax, with our sales associates in both locations also checking in with us to make sure we were updated. Be aware though the transfer process can take up to 28 days and ours did take that long. The sales process was smooth and completed in 90 minutes, probably our fastest transaction ever. Appreciated the can-do attitude of everyone. Since we just bought a similar car elsewhere, the only improvements I could see is we didnt receive a very competitive interest rate on the financing, so we ended up refinancing elsewhere since our purchase. Their warranty plans though were less expensive than the one we got on the other car. I love that they put a big bow on the car and they did a great job of processing the paperwork correctly the first time. All in all, a great experience and would definitely recommend.
Quick easy. Look through online before you go have an idea of what you can afford and dont look at cars you cant afford. Good experienceIt was first with CarmaxAnd experience wise I will be back, my son bought a carHis first car with a paymentI was there for support and advice. When its my turn to get a new one I will go back thanks
I bought a new Kia at CarMax in Fort Myers and it was a great experience. The associate was extremely helpful, honest, and caring about my wants and needs in buying the car. There were no games or hidden fees with the price or purchase and I would recommend that anyone shop there for best and easiest car buying experience they will ever have.👍😊
I love Mike he made my experience great! The reason I’m giving a 3 is due to on the day of purchase I inquired about the tires having very little tread like the previous owner must have raced the car because the tread was gone on a 15k mile 2019 Lexus. He said they were good but I took my car to Firestone and I’m out a 1,000 bucks for four new tires and not getting a call back. Besides the tire situation I would’ve given them a 5 star rating. Mike really was great.
I got a great car at a great price. Thank you Carmax Sales Consultant, Dustin Conwell in Ft Myers, FL for all your help. You were very professional and friendly. That made the whole experience so much easier. 5 stars for sure. Im a Carmax customer for life.Nov2021, still love my car.
I had a great experience with the Fort Myers Car Max. Car buying is usually a process that I don’t look forward to. I hate the pressure of going to a dealership but car back wasn’t like that at all. They took their time to make sure that I was happy with the option I chose.
First purchase at CarMax - probably not the last. The best part, when its time to sign, they dont make you sit around for an hour and then stuff you into an office with someone who tries to sell you 15 different add-on protection plans. It seems weird at first, like it should be more formal, but you get used to it quick. Aside from the time we took to test drive, the buying process was probably about 90 minutes from start to finish. The detailing of the car for delivery was less than ideal, but it was dark and it was nearly closing time - but still it is an important step. I would recommend CarMax to anyone in the market for a used vehicle.
I live in Illinois and am in Florida for the winter. I had a car from Car max shipped from Melbourne Florida to Fort Myers Florida. I received a call the car was in Fort Myers for me to look at. Went to look at the car 2/6/2020 and liked the car and bought it. I made a call to Illinois Secretary of State to make sure what paperwork I needed to send in. I had everything but a National Disaster Disclosure statement Which Illinois requires from any hurricane state..I have made many calls to Fort Myers Car max business office and also have been there. The business office still says they are working on getting the statement after 19 days and I still Am waiting on it.😞 I need to get my car registered . I have always heard and thought Car max was a good used car company to buy from. I am just so disappointed this is taking so long! The salesman and service department couldn’t have been any better. I can’t believe I am the only person from out of state that has bought a car from car max and needed a National Disaster statement. Apparently someone is not doing there job. Very disappointed and still waiting 😞
Nice vehicles! I actually purchased 2 a few days apart. Had some issues with the title odometer being transcribed wrong delaying me bringing my truck home. Over all very satisfying and will buy again from carmax. Justin in the service center is my advisor and is absolutely amazing!
I had a wonderful experience at Ft Myers, Fl Carmax. The salesman Kevin Jenkins was AWESOME. They are not like other sales ppl at other car lots, they dont pressure you & hound you. I also knew within the 1st 10 minutes of being in the building if I was gonna be approved or not, which I was & Im so happy with my 2018 Kia Sorento thats fully loaded. I was super gunshy about going into another dealership after my WORST exp at Ft Myers Mitsubishi but Kevin at Carmax made me feel a lot better. I am telling anyone who wants to buy a car to go there & their cars are in immaculate condition with good prices.Thank you Kevin &Thank you Carmax Ft Myers
This is strictly for the Fort Myers location.Mario was beyond a breath of fresh air when it came to dealing with CarMax. I had a very bad experience at the Gulfport location. To which I had to take my vehicle back due to MOLD growing in my car. He not only help me pick my new car but set everything up to be transferred back to gulfport( due to state laws.) Him and the manager we’re phenomenal! They put me in in a “loaner” until my vehicles make it to Gulfport. Highly highly wish I could have done business with them. I’ll be back to leave my review about the Gulfport location once it arrives and I go through that process. Please give them a raise! If Mario happens to see this please let him know my fiancé did not go to Juarez, and I appreciate him keeping me entertained with the geography lesson!
I’ve never had such an EASY car buying experience. I worked mostly by phone/ text with Levi, was able to get an offer on my previous vehicle all online, and just picked up my new vehicle at the location. Easy peasy. Nothing but positive things to say about everyone I came in contact with.
I walked away happy with my purchase. I was helped by Ben he was very nice and knowledgeable which made the process great but as it came time to sign I told him I was uninterested in their “Maxcare” service and his whole demeanor changed. Also when purchasing a vehicle here make sure they can provide you with the maintenance history on the vehicle. I am currently getting the run around !
From the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out with a new car it took me 2 hours. I got Kevin Jenkins To help me. Words can’t express what a sincere and fast salesman. He was so wonderful. I turned in my car got 7,000. Left with an amazing van. He did everything quickly and was honest from the start. I highly recommend him. His so amazing at what he does. We will definitely be back in the future to see him. Great service, great attention, great person.
Amazing experience. I had been looking for a car for 4 weeks and kept running into absolute crooks at used car places, some of them not even able to give their word the car would make it home.I went to car max by suggestion of my girlfriend and it was the perfect car shopping experience. There was zero pressure, all the pricing and info was on the cars (really though, not falsely advertised), and fair prices. The gentleman who sold me my car (Marc) made my experience so stress free and easy I would recommend to anyone to buy from here and save time by starting at CarMax rather than going through 4 weeks of headaches like I did.
At first all seemed good (buying a car is VERY stressful, especially a small older woman). The sales person was helpful and we found a car I liked. We had to order it, from another location, and as it came in early, that salesman sent me a text message, asking if I was interested in this car, and that car had 50K more miles than the one I ordered..... this seemed fishy to me, as the one I ordered only had less than 35K miles..... so I said NO and he replied that he used his car for another job and that screen shot reflected the miles, seemingly associated with his other job.At this point my impression was; he was trying to sell me HIS car! I have taken this up with two different on-duty managers, at the time.In the meantime, I went back to my bank to see when and what my new car payments were going to be; and I wanted to include a Mechanics package (because with CARMAX, I did not qualify with what the bank allowed) and the CARMAX manager that day suggested that I go back to the bank and see if I could include the package there) and I was told by my bank it would cost me another $1550. to do the loan......WHAT??? I had be pre-approved for a loan much larger than the cost of the car..... so I said to the bank, dont include the mechanics package and I dont think she understood and then called me back to say it would only be an additional $300.00, to secure the loan.I then went back to CARMAX and this new manager assured me that they (CARMAX) were correct and the bank was not.... so then I called the Corporate Office of my bank and all things were eventually ironed out and I got the loan and the gap insurance and the new date and amount of my next, new car-payment date and amount.Thinking all is good, I then get a voice mail from CARMAX, stating my registration is in and to come and pick it up. The very next day (less than 24 hours), arrive to pick up my new registration and low and behold, it is NOT there! I show the people in the office department the voice mail message and they proceeded to tell me.... well if you did NOT respond to the voicemail, then it is gone and it will arrive by Fe-EX on the Monday (this was a Friday and I dont live anywhere near this CARMAX location . So why did the voicemail not tell me to respond or this would be sent out to my home??????? All in all, I like CARMAX, however, buyer beware; do ALL your homework and be prepared!!!!
I went on a Holiday, Insurance Agency and Company was closed. I advised I had automatic coverage for 14 days. Salesman insisted I called someone else to get coverage or I wasnt leaving with the vehicle. Again this was on a Saturday and a Holiday, no place was open. I think your policy regarding Insurance Coverage should be revisited when the purchase of a new vehicle falls on a Holiday. Besides this and the 3 hour wait to get my vehicle it wasnt too bad.
This was my third car I’ve bought and my first time from CarMax. I’ve dealt with Dealerships before and it’s always the same game, they can’t give you a solid price on a car until you talk to financing. Even if you already come prepared with a loan. I found my car online, had it shipped to the store of my choice, and scheduled a test drive. I was in and out in under an hour, granted I had my own financing, but you should have financing before you even shop for a car. My over all experience was fantastic, every time I went into CarMax I was greeted with smiles and employees eager to help. Even the specialist I spoke to on the phone when I ordered my car was fantastic. I’ve never felt so happy walking away after buying a vehicle.
