Will Chase Bank refund me if I get scammed? ›

With Chase's Zero Liability Protection you won't be held responsible for unauthorized charges made with your card or account information.

If we spot suspicious activity on your account, we may place a temporary hold on it. This is an extra security step to help ensure it's really you and not someone else using your account.

If you've transferred money to someone because of a scam

This type of scam is known as an 'authorised push payment'. Your bank or building society should reimburse you if it's registered with the Lending Standards Board under their Contingent Reimbursem*nt Model Code (CRM Code).

Did a scammer make an unauthorized transfer from your bank account? Contact your bank and tell them it was an unauthorized debit or withdrawal. Ask them to reverse the transaction and give you your money back.

Chase may contact you through an interactive text message if we have reason to believe someone may be attempting to gain access to your banking or credit card account(s). Up to ten (10) messages may be sent per incident.

Chase offers retail bank services to individuals and businesses, including checking, savings, credit cards, mortgages and loans.

The issuer credits the cardholder, the payment brand sends funds back to the card issuer and then Chase, in turn, debits the funds from your settlement account to cover the dispute and notifies the payment brand (e.g., Visa®, Mastercard® or the debit network).

Each card network and issuing bank sets its own time limits for filing a chargeback, but U.S. law sets a minimum time limit of 60 days. Most banks give cardholders 120 days to dispute a charge.
